Q: Do I need to RSVP or get tickets to Lakefront Live?
A: No, you do not need to get tickets for any Lakefront Live event, but RSVPing is required to participate in certain on-site events. Lakefront Live events are open to the public and all are welcome. However, we strongly encourage you to RSVP for our featured events: Summer Kickoff, Teen Night, Pride in July, Back to School Bash, and Y2K Night. Having an anticipated headcount helps us make sure that there’s enough CA swag to go around. Visit featured events page for more information.
Q: What if there’s bad weather? How do I know if a show or movie is canceled?
A: Visit LakefrontLive.org for the latest information regarding weather-related cancellations.
Q: Do I have to pay to go to Lakefront Live?
A: CA is hosting more than 50 FREE entertainment events at the Columbia Association (CA) Lakefront this year. That includes movie nights, Dancin’ Under the People Tree, concerts produced by Merriweather Arts & Culture Center (MACC), Family Fun Days, Weekend Wind Down, and special featured events.
Q: Where should I park for events?
A: Parking for Lakefront Live is available in three locations: 1) the lot located to the LEFT of the entrance to Whole Foods, 2) under the Wincopin parking garage, 3) on the top of the Wincopin Parking garage, and 4) at the Sterrett Place lot. We also encourage everyone to ride your bike down to the CA Lakefront and park it in one of the bike rack spaces adjacent to Whole Foods.
Q: Do I need to bring my own chair or blanket?
A: This is a BYOC situation… bring your own comfort! Feel free to bring down your favorite folding chair or blanket, kick back and enjoy the show. Please be mindful of your fellow Lakefront Live goers with your seating choices and try not to bring anything that blocks views for others.
Q: Can I bring my own food? Will food be provided at any of the events?
A: Yes, you can bring your own food to Lakefront Live. Check individual event listings for menus and to see which food trucks will be on site and when!
Q: Can I bring alcoholic beverages?
A: No outside alcohol is permitted. However, alcohol will be sold at certain Lakefront Live featured acts. All drinks will be kept in a designated area licensed for alcohol sales. HERE are the events where the Beer Garden will be open to ages 21+.
Q: Is the Lakefront ADA accessible?
A: Yes, we welcome people of all abilities to the Lakefront! The Lakefront Plaza is accessible via multiple ramps, one near Millie Bailey Park and the other next to the stairs leading down to the fountain area.
Q: Are dogs allowed?
A: Furry family members are welcome to join in the fun! Keep in mind that there will be significant crowds, so if your dog isn’t a people pooch, it may be better to leave them at home.
Q: Is smoking allowed?
A: We ask that you refrain from smoking at the Lakefront.
