The emerging rock band Chasing Straights has been performing its shredding guitar solos, mind blowing drum fills, and layered guitars and vocals since 2020. Based out of the Philadelphia area, Chasing Straights’ music wrestles with finding oneself and overcoming internal struggles by way of rock and roll.

In partnership with Howard County Rec & Parks and the Merriweather Arts and Culture Center (MACC), CA invites you to an unforgettable July 4th celebration at the Columbia Association Lakefront with free festivities and fireworks.
3pm – Lakefront opens for blankets and seating
5-9pm – Food trucks serving up a variety of local favorites
6-7:15pm – Live performance by Chasing Straights, produced by MACC
7:30-9pm – Live performance by Dom Flemons & The Traveling Wildfires produced by MACC
9:15pm – Fireworks hosted by Howard County Rec & Parks start around dusk
